Mottura has been producing curtain systems since 1963 and is today present on the international market with a complete range of window furnishing products.
THE LOGISTICS CHALLENGE
Heavy molds storage and retrieval represented for Mottura a big challenge in terms of cost with implication on the production and distribution processes. The heavy duty racking system, previously used to store molds not in use, was no longer able to guarantee the efficiency level required by the market. Items' damage rates and work flow interruptions were too high and needed to be cut down.
THE SOLUTION
The 2 SILO2 Vertical Lift Modules have been strategically located in the production area making the job easier for the staff thanks to the workstation equipped with external access opening. SILO² have helped the Company enhancing the molds' protection freeing up at the same time, about 60% of the molds storage area that might be reallocated for additional manufacturing without a costly plant expansion.
