THE LOGISTICS CHALLENGE
Due to the strong growth in sales volumes worldwide which involve the need for greater storage capacity, in 2014 the Company has decided to re-design the storage area of its Bönen site in order to optimize the available space and make the picking operations faster and more accurate.
THE SOLUTION
The installation of 2 SILO2 multi-column VLM, both with two side-by-side access opening equipped with a laser pointer pick/put-to-light system, allowed to GEA Farm Technologies to drastically reduce set-up times of orders, eliminating unnecessary and lengthy procedures such as reading picking lists, identification of positions and verification.
