STORAGE AND RETRIEVAL SYSTEM
Between the 2 storage columns, a vertical-lift system fitted with a tray retrieval mechanism, is responsible for tray handling. The automatic tray retrieval device retrieves the trays stored in the storage columns and supplies the access openings or conversely returns trays to their storage cells.
For the single column VLMs, the handling system works along 2 axes: vertical (y) and tray storage (z).
For the multi-column VLMs, the handling system works along 3 axes: horizontal (x), vertical (y) and tray storage (z).
