SILO², the tailor-made multi–column vertical storage system

SILO² is our automatic multi-column vertical lift system with shifting trays for intesive storage of different items.

It offers maximum adaptability to real storage needs, faster ergonomic solution in the picking operations of small–medium sized items, even with a very high specific weight offering a wide range of specific weights per tray: steel moulds, printing cylinders, fabric rools, nuts and bolts, boxes, electrical & mechanical components, pharmaceuticals, spare parts, etc.

Its modular design enables the creation of automatic storage systems suitable for any requirements in terms of space and capacity, from 2 up to 7 columns. SILO² can replace several traditional single-columned systems with just one storage system structure, fully able to exploit all the available space.

With over 1 billion possible configurations, SILO² is able to better exploit all the available space, not only vertically (system height varies every 100 mm from 3,000 mm minimum up to 15,000 mm maximum) but also horizontally (system width varies from 2,335 mm minimum up to 7,085 mm maximum).

Unprecedent operational continuity and flexibility

Designed according to ergonomic and safety principles, the access openings allow the accurate, safe and ergonomic picking and refilling of materials.

Each system can be equipped with a minimum of 1 ad a maximum of 8 access openings.

The different type of access openings (internal, external, telescopic) and the high freedom of positioning (side-by-side, on multiple levels, opposite, etc.) ensure an operational continuativity and flexibility never been reached before.

Internal side-by-side access openings

The internal access opening is the ideal solution to store small-medium sized items. The possibility of positioning multiple access openings, one next to each other, helps to increase speed and efficiency in the picking process. In the standard version, while one tray is involved in picking operations in one access opening, another tray is already being brought to the access opening next door, reducing or even setting the waiting time to zero.

External access opening with fixed footprint

The external access opening with fixed footprint is the ideal solution in situations where it is necessary to access the tray from the side.

Telescopic Access Opening

Telescopic access opening allows for the fast, comfortable picking of heavy and/or bulky materials (up to 400 kg) which need to be handled by servo-controlled systems and/or automatic systems (cranes, pneumatic manipulators, robots etc. …) without any fixed footprint area.

Multiple access openings

SILO² Vertical Lift Module can be equipped with different type of side-by-side access openings. For example internal and telescopic in order to ensure the safe and comfortable storage of different items in terms of weight and dimension which need to be handled by various sytems.

Access openings at different levels

Thanks to the possibility of positionin more acecss openings on different levels of the same building, SILO² offers the change to access in a fast and secure way to all stored items, from watever level the operators are.

Opposite access openings

The possibility of positioning access openings on the opposite sites of the SILO² allows to access to the stored materials from both sides of the storage system, from different operators as well. Furthermore, this solution allows to use the SILO² VLM as a buffer storage when two different area of warehouse need the same stored goods.
